The COVID-19 Pandemic has come with a lockdown which has now become the new normal has brought about hardship and hunger to people across Africa with businesses shut and jobs lost. Some have even dared to say that the hunger pandemic across Africa has become worse than the virus itself.

It was all bliss for the residents of Apo resettlement as Evang. Dr. Kufre Abasi Eyo collaborated with the Fountain Splash Initiative (NGO) and the WIHOFA family to hand out COVID-19 palliatives to them.
The aim of this outreach was to help ease the negative effect of COVID-19.

Abiodun Essiet who represented the AMAC chairman opened the event and thanked the Senior Pastor of WIHOFA Church and the Executive Director of the Fountain Splash Initiative while also calling on religious leaders to emulate such kind gesture.

The senior pastor of WIHOFA Church, Dr Kufre, admonished the residents of Apo resettlement to adhere to the Federal Government’s instructions of safe hygiene and respect the stay at home policy. He also thanked God for giving him and his partners the ability to hand out this palliatives.

The Executive Director of Fountain Splash Initiative Mrs Mmemaobong Kufre and her team explained the place of hygiene in fighting off the virus and taught the Apo residents how to wash their hands, how to use their face masks properly and how to protect others while outdoors.

The residents of Apo resettlement couldn’t hide their joy as they poured blessings and prayers on the Senior Pastor of WIHOFA Church for this kind gesture. Each resident went home with a bag containing rice, beans, garri potatoes, onions, salt, spaghetti, indomie, hand sanitizers and facemasks.

Over 400 adults received this COVID-19 Palliatives courtsey of this collaboration.
Also, Saturday the 13th of June will remain very remarkable in the hearts of many in the Apo resettlement area of the Nations Capital as food items, cash gift and many others were given to the needy. This isn’t the first time the very amiable and people centric pastor will be reaching out. This day was very special as it also marks his birthday.

Speaking with newsmen, he said, i have asked everyone around me, i don’t need any gift from you if you must gift me anything let it be what the people can directly benefit from. It’s only man who cares so much about the wellbeing of us who can think like this said one of the receipts of the gifts.

The impact of the birthday outreach will in a long time remain unforgettable and so real considering the very many challenges faced as a result of the global pandemic.
Most of those present couldn’t hide their joy and prayed for the man of God.
From us here, we are wishing the very great man of God a happy birthday and more grace to reach out to the needy.
