Family warns Akeredolu’s wife over threat to female special adviser

The Elemo Adedipe Dynasty has warned Betty Akeredolu, wife of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, over threat to deal with their daughter Olubunmi Ademosu who is a special adviser to the governor.

Mrs Akeredolu was recently captured on tape accusing her husband’s special adviser on public and inter-governmental relations of giving him concoctions to manage his poor health.

She also accused Ms Ademosu of an ambition to become deputy governor, should the governor become incapable of completing his tenure.

“Look at you, what have you got upstairs to be the Deputy Governor of Ondo State? Yeah, peradventure anything happens to Aketi, Lucky takes over, it is a constitutional thing. But for you to be scheming, is evil.

“I told Aketi from the onset that this woman is evil, this woman is no good and it is happening. She has nothing good for you. I warned you. This woman is bloody evil. But I am warning her for the very last time to stay away from my husband.

“And look, you’re dealing with an Igbo woman. In this kind of situation, I will deal with you mercilessly. You will never forget in your life.

“For the very last time Ademosu or whatever you call yourself, stay away from Aketi. Stay away from sneaking in those concoctions. Stay away this woman. You won’t find it funny with me oh. You are a very terrible human being. Go away,” Mrs Akeredolu said in the recording.

The Ondo State Government has since confirmed that Governor Akeredolu is infirm.

Reacting to the governor’s wife’s outburst, chairman of Elemo Adedipe Dynasty of Akure, Home and Diaspora, Elder Adedipe A. Olajide, said in a statement on Friday: “The Elemo Adedipe Dynasty of Akure is in possession of the audio tape issued by Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu (aka Arabirin) on Monday 16th January 2023. We understand that audio tape that depicts an emotional outburst has now become viral.

“We note with a sense of responsibility the outright threat to the life of our daughter – Mrs Olubunmi Ademosu (Special Adviser on Public and Inter-Governmental Relations to Ondo State Executive Governor) in the audio tape which Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu has not denied up till now.

“We, therefore, call the attention of the Inspector General of Police and the Director of the Department of State Services and every lover of peace in this country to call Mrs. Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu to order over her threat to the life of our daughter – Mrs Olubunmi Ademosu

“The Elemo Adedipe Dynasty of Akure will hold Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu responsible and accountable should anything untoward happen to our daughter and/or her assets (human and material).

“We empathize with Arakunrin Akeredolu as he faces this unusual emotional stress from within his household at a time he has health challenges and requires sucour from every well-meaning individual. ‘It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. It is better to dwell in the wilderness than with a contentious and angry woman. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness (Proverbs 21:9,19 and 25:5, 24).’

“We join the good people of Ondo State to pray for the speedy recovery of Arakunrin’s health so he can finish his term as Executive Governor with laudable legacies for posterity in Ondo State.

“May the Lord God give us peace in this state during this election year and beyond.”
