How women avoided me because of my face, stature – Actor Stephen Alajemba

Veteran actor Stephen Alajemba, better known as Uwaezuoke, has recollected how he was treated differently as a child due to his body stature and face.

The Akidi star relieved his childhood memories in a recent episode of the Yan Kontent Factory podcast in which he stated that many women avoided him because they thought he had an ugly face.

The 66-year-old said people in his community were excited over his birth but were quickly repelled when they set their eyes on him.

Stephen Alajemba revealed that his mother never received any gift from people as they kept making excuses not to see or carry him.

The comic actor who focuses mainly on Igbo films also noted that women usually lose interest in him as soon as they see his face and his stature.

“My mother said my birth was not an easy one and what pains her the most was how her co-wives faked excitement over the news of my birth and expressed shock immediately they saw me. Any lady who sees my facial look and stature runs away. No one is better than me except Jesus,” the actor said in parts.

Stephen has been featured in movies like Okochi, Nurse Eliza, Ihe Onye Metalu, Akonauche, Akidi and Uwaezuoke in Togo.
