Hurricane Harvey: Solange contributes concert proceeds, The Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Leonardo Dicaprio and others pitch in

The heavy flood that struck Houston last week has evacuated many from their homes and so much effort are being put into ensuring the safety of the victims as an array of Hollywood celebrities have been supporting in their little way. Beyonce’s sister, Solange has announced that she is donating the entire proceed off the concert. Upon this announcement the venues already sold out, but she added another show, of which $3 of each ticket will donated to the flood victims. She made these announcements via her IG  page.

I will be doing a special “Orions Rise” show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey Relief. I’m committed to partnering with organizations on the ground in Houston and making contributions to uplift the city that raised me with so much love. See you September 28th Boston, I thank you in advance for making this a special meaningful night !

Afterwards, other celebrities also pledged support; Nicki Minaj pledged $25k, Leonard Dicaprio pledged $1m, Comedian Kevin Hart pledged $50k, Miley Cyrus pledged $500k. The Kardashians pledged $500k, Rita Ora volunteered to help look for shelter in Dallas.

The Red Cross has reportedly colledteed more than $8.5m out of a $10m goal.
