IWD: Ogun commissioner hails women’s resourcefulness, sacrifices to nation-building

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye has hailed the resourcefulness and uncommon sacrifices made by the women towards having a better society.

Adelye said that despite the challenges, women have continued to combine their beauty, strength, resilience, courage and confidence to push for a better Nigeria and advance the frontiers of its prosperity and development.

The commissioner disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday to mark International Women’s Day.

Adeleye used the occasion of this year’s celebration to demand greater support for women because nations and society that support women are known to flourish.

Adeleye said “Today, we celebrate the beauty, strength, and resilience of women everywhere. It is a day to reflect on the progress we have made and the challenges that still lie ahead.

“Women continue to inspire the world with their courage, grace, and determination, shaping families, communities, and Nations in countless ways. Every woman’s story is a reflection of perseverance, and today, we honour them all.

“As we mark this special day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the women in our lives—their sacrifices, their dreams, and their unwavering spirit. May we continue to uplift and support one another, knowing that when women rise, society flourishes.
