Uber CEO Apologizes For Mistakes Made Following Its Ban in London as He Vows To Restore The Company’s License

Some days ago, we  reported that Uber has been banned in London by TfL for being ‘unfit and improper’ and it has since spawned diverse reactions from people as some are of the opinion that this measure will leave them unable to afford late-night lifts home and will put thousands of drivers out of work. The ban is said to take effect from September 30 2017.

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, just issued an apology regarding the ban of the company’s operation London, he admitted that the company got things wrong as he vows to restore the company’s license. His apology came after Transport for London halted the company’s license in the country following his failure to report crimes committed by Uber drivers.

He said “We won’t be perfect, but we will listen to you; we will look to be long-term partners with the cities we serve; and we will run our business with humility, integrity and passion. While Uber has revolutionised the way people move in cities around the world, it’s equally true that we’ve got things wrong along the way.

‘On behalf of everyone at Uber globally, I apologise for the mistakes we’ve made.

‘We will appeal this decision on behalf of millions of Londoners, but we do so with the knowledge that we must also change.

‘As Uber’s new CEO, it is my job to help Uber write its next chapter.

‘We won’t be perfect, but we will listen to you; we will look to be long-term partners with the cities we serve; and we will run our business with humility, integrity and passion.

‘You have my commitment that we will work with London to make things right and keep this great global city moving safely”.

In the quest of getting back their license, Uber has emailed their members individually urging them to sign the petition that their license be restored and 750k Londoners has signed the petition of their license’s restoration.
